An electronic office,
often referred to as a digital or paperless office, is a
concept that involves the use of digital technologies
and tools to manage and conduct office operations,
replacing or reducing the reliance on traditional
paper-based filing system. The transition to an
electronic office environment can bring various
benefits, including increased efficiency, cost savings,
enhanced collaboration, and improved environmental
sustainability.b) The Himachal Pradesh state Government
has decided to adopt e-Office in their departments to
bring transparency and efficiency in governance and to
discourage physical file movement. Accordingly,
the HPSEBL has decided to implement e-Office developed
by National Informatics Centre (NIC) through Department
of Information and Technology (DIT). In first phase,
after imparting necessary training sessions, e-Office
has been implemented in all offices of HPSEBL Head
Quarter. In second phase, HPSEBL is in process to
implement e-Office in field offices of the Chief
Engineer (Operations) i.e. 4 No. and offices of the
Superintending Engineers (Operation) i.e. 12 No., at
earliest. Thereafter, remaining offices upto the Section
(JE office) level shall also be covered in phased manner
